Jason Bock is a filmmaker with an instinct for striking visuals, cinematic scale and the human moments that give them meaning.

Originally trained as a painter, Jason came to directing through art, design and visual effects - a background that still shapes the way he works today. There’s a strong aesthetic running through his films, but never at the expense of story or performance. He’s equally comfortable creating ambitious visual worlds as he is finding something intimate, unexpected or emotionally honest within them.

That versatility has seen Jason work across narrative, sport and VFX-led filmmaking for brands including Tourism New Zealand, Air New Zealand, Tesla, ANZ, Uniqlo and Jaeger-LeCoultre. His work has taken him around the world, shooting everywhere from remote communities to large-scale productions with leading talent and athletes.

Jason doesn’t subscribe to a single signature style. He lets the idea dictate the approach, moving easily between genres while bringing a distinctive eye, strong post sensibility and a real understanding of how to build a film from shoot through to final frame.
