“Callum Preston’s MILK BAR” is a tribute to the milk bars of Australian suburban life. Hand-built by the artist, it features over 500 individually cut and painted plywood recreations of food items from the mid ‘90s period of the artist’s youth, complete with phone and post box. It is meant to serve as a blurry handcrafted time machine; you’re instantly transported to the mixed lollies and magazine rack, as test cricket plays on the TV.
